Dubai: Authorities are carrying out an autopsy on whether poison was used against abandoned dogs in Abu Dhabi, which killed five and left 10 fighting for their lives.

According to UAE animal welfare activists, a toxicology report will be issued, and all surviving dogs are being tested for diseases.

On their Facebook page, Animal Action Abu Dhabi said that all the affected dogs were transported to the Australian Veterinary Hospital in Abu Dhabi's Khalifa City A.

The dogs were found in the Musaffah industrial area, on June 5, 2017.

All surviving dogs were found to be suffering from vomiting, diarrohea, and bleeding from the nose.
