The collision involved his motorcycle and a vehicle driven by a woman
Dubai: A 31-year-old Emirati man tragically lost his life in a traffic accident early this morning on Umbrella Beach Road in Fujairah. The collision involved his motorcycle and a vehicle driven by a woman.
Brigadier General Saleh Mohammed Abdullah Al Dhahnani, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Fujairah Police, told Gulf News that the operations room received a report at 1:55 am about the accident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the crash occurred when the vehicle entered the road without ensuring it was clear, leading to the fatal impact.
Brigadier Al Dhahnani emphasised the importance of following traffic regulations, particularly checking for oncoming traffic before entering a roadway. He noted that collision risks are higher in areas with heavy traffic flow from multiple directions. He also stressed that adhering to speed limits is crucial in reducing both the likelihood and severity of accidents, warning that excessive speed significantly diminishes a driver's ability to maintain control.
He further urged motorists to remain attentive while driving, avoid distractions, and stay in designated lanes. Maintaining a safe distance between vehicles is essential to prevent accidents caused by sudden stops or unexpected lane changes.
Meanwhile, the Fujairah Police General Command has called on all drivers to strictly adhere to speed limits on internal roads, emphasising that compliance is vital for the safety of all road users and reducing accidents that put lives at risk.
Legal measures have been taken, and the case has been referred to the Traffic Prosecution.
