Sharjah: Sharjah’s local emergency, crisis, and disaster management team on Saturday announced that a fire, which broke out on Friday evening in a clothing warehouse at Al Hamriyah’s second free zone, has been fully brought under control, with no injuries reported.
Brigadier Omar Al Ghazal, Director General of Operations and Security Support and head of the executive committee for the emergency team, commended the efficient and professional response that contained the blaze, prevented its spread to nearby facilities, and minimised potential damage.
Meanwhile, Brigadier Saeed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence and committee member, highlighted the rapid containment of the fire, which reflected high readiness and excellent coordination among field units and relevant authorities.
Cooling operations are ongoing to ensure safety and prevent reignition, while investigations into the cause of the fire continue.
The emergency team expressed its thanks and appreciation for the cooperation of Dubai Civil Defence, Ajman Civil Defence, Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence, Fujairah Civil Defence, Sharjah Municipality, Al Hamriyah Municipality, the free zone, and Al Marwan company, emphasising the integrated emergency response system and joint institutional spirit safeguarding community safety.
