Sharjah: A large fire that broke out early Friday at a used auto parts site in Sharjah’s Industrial Area 10 was successfully contained by emergency crews, with no injuries reported. Thick black smoke billowed over the area, prompting a rapid and coordinated response from Sharjah Police, Civil Defense, and multiple support agencies.

Sharjah Police confirmed that the fire was fully extinguished following a swift, high-level response.

Brigadier General Omar Al Ghazal, Director General of Operations and Security Support and Chairman of the Executive Committee for Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management, said a unified field team was formed immediately upon receiving the report. The team coordinated closely with all concerned authorities to contain the fire in record time and prevent its spread to nearby facilities.

He added that Civil Defense teams are currently carrying out cooling operations to ensure the flames do not reignite, thereby protecting the surrounding area.

Brigadier General Saeed Obaid Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General of Sharjah Civil Defense, stated that response teams arrived at the site within eight minutes of receiving the emergency call. “From the outset, public safety was our top priority. Evacuation procedures and safety protocols were activated immediately, and nearby gas lines were shut off in coordination with the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority as a precaution,” he said.

No injuries were reported, and all necessary safety measures were taken to protect workers and residents in the vicinity. A joint investigation by Sharjah Police and Civil Defense is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Sharjah Police expressed gratitude to Civil Defense units from Dubai, Ajman, and Umm Al Quwain, as well as to Sharjah Municipality, SEWA, National Ambulance, and Al Marwan Company for their collective efforts in the response.
