UAE 'needs to diversify' higher education courses
Dubai: The country needs a wider range of higher education programmes, said Dr Abdullah Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority.
In an exclusive interview with Notes, a weekly publication for students from Gulf News, Dr Al Karam said: "I think there are not many masters degree providers. The [available] ones ... are all clustered around MBAs. ... We need to diversify the programmes. Undergraduate programmes too are not that many." More bachelor programmes will result in more students with qualifications suitable to enrol in a variety of masters programmes, he said.
He said it will also help those who may not be able to travel abroad for studies.
