Iran conflict: UAE extends distance learning until March 6
All students and staff in public and private schools and universities affected
Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have announced extending distance learning across the country until Friday, March 6, 2026, with teaching and learning to continue remotely under ongoing assessment frameworks.
The decision applies to all students, as well as academic and administrative staff, in public and private schools and universities nationwide.
In a joint statement, the two ministries said developments would be closely monitored and that any additional measures would be taken as required to safeguard the wellbeing of students and the wider educational community.
The move is part of a set of precautionary measures adopted by the UAE in response to ongoing regional developments, as authorities seek to maintain public safety while ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of essential services, including education.
Earlier in the day, Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, official spokesperson for the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA), said that business continuity plans have been activated as a precautionary measure to ensure the readiness of vital sectors, with operational alternatives in place. The education process, he added, continues uninterrupted through the activation of remote learning systems.
