Dubai: A newly advanced national curriculum is set to revamp the style of teaching and update the knowledge provided to students offering a fresh perspective into the society's changes in the country.

As part of their regular visits to schools, the National Curriculum Committee chaired by Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, with membership of Dr Anwar Mohammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmad Mohammad Al Humairi, General Secretary, Ministry of Presidential Affairs, and other education ministry officials explored the implications of the new curriculum at Al Manar Model School in Sharjah.

The new national curriculum, which will be gradually implemented in all public schools, included general goals, involving information technology in the curriculum as well as assessment tools and techniques.

Goals

Dr Hassan said the new curriculum aims to achieve several goals such as pupils' awareness of their belonging to their country.

"We want our students to discover more about the national and wealth resources in the UAE, its economy, maintaining public and personal properties, roles of public organisations in providing services to the members of the society," said Dr Hassan.
