Khalifa University alumni get together for first time
Abu Dhabi: A new alumni association was established on Thursday at an Abu Dhabi-based university to increase awareness, participation and academic involvement for both students and faculty members.
More than 200 graduates, many of whom are industry leaders and hold prestigious positions in government and the private sector, attended the alumni dinner organised by Khalifa University.
“The new alumni association is a testament to the quality of the education we provide at Khalifa University and the abilities of our students to excel in a professional environment,” Tod Laursen, president of Khalifa University, said.
“The establishment of Khalifa University’s alumni association means that our current students can benefit much more easily from the mentorship and inspiration of their predecessors and our alumni cam more easily network with one another at the upcoming events,” he added.
Alumni, who attended the event, enjoyed reuniting with old classmates and professors and meeting fellow former students.
“Our alumni currently hold leading positions in telecommunications, government and semi-government entities throughout the UAE. It gives us great pleasure to see the success of our graduates,” said Arif Al Hammadi, executive vice-president.
