Mathnasium syllabus centre to open in Dubai
Dubai: A learning centre teaching only mathematics in after-school educational programmes is set to open in Dubai.
The institution will follow the Mathnasium syllabus.
"The Mathnasium curriculum has been designed to provide a challenging, engaging and dynamic learning experience," said Peter Markovitz, Mathnasium founder and president.
"The model was created to give all students an opportunity to dramatically increase their test scores, while developing the broad based reasoning skills that are critical to ongoing academic success," he added.
The results are there to prove Mathnasium's educational and motivational success. Independent studies show 85 per cent of parents report a dramatic improvement in their child's attitude towards maths, and 100 per cent of the students saw their skills jump at least one grade level and in most cases multiple grade levels in 20 sessions or less.
The institution, to be based at Dubai Knowledge Village, will open on February 1. The curriculum is designed to address the individual needs of children of all ages and skill levels, and students are initially assessed to identify their strengths and weaknesses.
The Mathnasium method uses a unique combination of mental, verbal, visual and written techniques to help children understand math.
