Many schools in Fujairah damaged due to rain

Dubai: A number of schools in Fujairah have been damaged by rain.

The Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works and Local departments in Fujairah has put together an emergency plan to assess the damage inflicted on schools as a result of rains over the past two days.

Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, has also instructed education officials to make sure that affected schools will be safe for students to continue education.

The initial reports from Fujairah indicated that a number of schools were affected by rain and water seeped through the ceiling of some classrooms.

The flooding has also caused the closure of roads leading to certain schools.
