Dubai: Emirati inventor Ahmad Abdullah Mohammad Majan took home four medals at the 66th edition of the International Trade Fair Ideas, Inventions and New Products (IENA2014) in Nuremberg, Germany.

Majan, who represented UAE youth at the conference, succeeded in winning against inventors from 30 countries at the annual international inventor competition by receiving one gold medal, two silver and one bronze. This big win made Majan the first inventor in the history of the competition to take home four medals.

Majan won the gold medal for inventing a pet tracking device that works on solar power; two silver medals for inventing a smart cage used for hunting and another hunting device using an electronic duck. He won the bronze metal for inventing a device that protects fishing devices from being stolen.

During the award ceremony that took place earlier this week at the exhibition, Majan dedicated his win to Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. He thanked Shaikh Hamdan for his constant encouragement and support during his journey as an inventor.

“We were taught by the school of smart leadership of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to never give up on being number one. I also thank Shaikh Hamdan. His encouragement had a great contribution in strengthening by determination to innovate.”

After Majan’s latest success, his medals total 11 from participating in previous international competitions in the US and UK.
