Unique management programme aims at creating educational leaders

Dubai: As many as 63 teachers from leading institutions in UAE took part in a three-day workshop that familiarised educational leaders with international best practices.

Gurukul for Gurus, a unique management programme, designed by Professor Debashis Chatterjee, Director of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, aims at creating centres of excellence; understanding self to enhance effectiveness; broadening the horizon of perception and nurturing effective learning in the classrooms.

Held at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, the three-day event was inaugurated on December 18 by M.K. Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to the UAE, and is supported by Malabar Gold and Diamonds.

Ambassador Lokesh stressed on the importance of education “as the most powerful tool we can use to change the world, a weapon that can bring about the desired changes in the social and cultural life of a nation”.

Professor Chatterjee remarked on the importance of the role of teachers in laying the perfect foundation of not just knowledge but also of humanity and character in individuals which in the long run determines the individual and their contribution to nations.
