Edufair Abu Dhabi is open until 7pm at Millennium Downtown
Hundreds of families turned up at Gulf News Edufair Abu Dhabi over the weekend, connecting with leading universities, exploring future-focused programmes, and learning about scholarships and fee waivers.
With access to admissions teams and expert guidance, students and parents were able to get clarity on academic pathways and application processes.
Christine Marcelo, whose elder daughter will be starting university this September, visited Edufair on Saturday with both her daughter and son.
“My daughter wants to study medicine in Europe, so it was really helpful to meet exhibitors offering medical programmes there,” she said.
“We were able to gather all the information we needed, and now it feels much easier to make a decision about her degree.”
Tania Mariam, who completed Grade 12 this year, attended with her parents to explore business administration courses.
“I’ve just finished Grade 12 and I’m interested in pursuing a degree in business administration here in the UAE,” she said, adding, “With so many universities in one place, it’s a great chance for me to compare my options, especially since many are offering scholarships and discounts on tuition fees.”
Murugan Loganathan, an Abu Dhabi resident also visited Edufair with her daughter Mytreyi, currently in Grade 11.
“She’s done well in her Grade 10 CBSE exams, and we’re exploring medical courses, whether in the UAE, India, or abroad. We had questions about admissions, scholarships, and possible subsidies for high-achieving students. My daughter still has two years before she begins higher education, so we’re here to get clarity on all these options.”
Meanwhile, Charlize Nicole attended the event on Sunday morning with her father, Arnold Datu, to explore programmes in architecture.
“I’m in Grade 10 and interested in architecture or interior design. I really want to design buildings - it really interests me. We’re currently exploring different universities, especially those offering foundation years.”
