Around 4.2m students appeared for the exams—2.41m for Class 10 and 1.79m for Class 12
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 10 exams from February 15 to March 18, while the Class 12 exams for the 2024–25 academic session concluded on April 4.
Approximately 4.2 million students appeared for the exams this year, with 2.412 million for Class 10 and 1.788 million for Class 12.
The CBSE is expected to announce the Class 10 results soon, though an official date has yet to be confirmed. Based on previous years, the results are likely to be declared within a month. Once released, students can check their scores on the CBSE's official websites: cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in.
To pass the Class 10 exams, students must secure at least 33 per cent in each subject. If students fall short of the cutoff by a mark or two, grace marks may be awarded at the discretion of the board.
The exact date for the CBSE Class 10 result has not been announced, but it is expected between May 18 and 20. Results typically come out within two months after the exams conclude on March 18.
The CBSE is preparing for the result compilation process, and based on past trends, the Class 12 results are expected in May. The board typically releases Class 10 and 12 results on the same day. Students are advised to visit the official CBSE websites — cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and results.cbse.nic.in — regularly for updates.
In the last three years, Class 12 results have been released in mid-May. In 2024, the result was declared on May 13, and in 2023, it was announced on May 12. An exception was in 2022 when results were delayed and released on July 22 due to pandemic-related disruptions.
In 2024, 1.66 million students appeared for the Class 12 exams out of the 1.68 million who had registered, with 1.45 million successfully clearing the exams. The overall pass percentage for Class 12 in 2024 was 87.33 per cen.
