Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has announced the completion of a 690-seater auditorium located on its new campus at Khalifa City.
Newly built cities outside Abu Dhabi like Khalifa City are set to become new infrastructure hubs.
The new cultural auditorium at ADU is considered one of the largest in the UAE and has an advanced lighting system.
The acoustics of the auditorium were designed to ensure that quality sound could be delivered across the venue regardless of performance type.
ADU moved into its new Dh500,000,000 campus in Khalifa City in October 2006.
Students from all nationalities have registered at ADU and study according to the American model of higher education in its faculties of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering and Computer Science and the English Language Institute.
"Cultural activities such as concerts, plays and public events played a crucial role in our expansion plan and our university's facilities will be an ideal venue to host cultural and professional events," said Dr Nabeel A. Ebrahim, ADU Chancellor.
The design, planning and installation of the technology required in the auditorium was carried out by a UAE based information technology and telecom solutions company, Alpha Data.
