Abu Dhabi: Teachers trained in new Social Studies curriculum

Abu Dhabi: A series of trainings have recently been launched to familiarise public school teachers in the emirate of Abu Dhabi with the new curriculum for Social Studies, the Abu Dhabi Education Council announced in a statement on Thursday.

The new Integrated Social Studies curriculum includes topics from History, Geography, Social Studies, National Education, Economics, Psychology, Sociology and Career Guidance. It has been rolled out to pupils enrolled in Grade 6, as part of the Adec’s New School Curriculum that prioritises creativity and critical thinking over rote learning.

A four-day workshop has already been conducted for teachers in the capital and Western Region, while those in Al Ain, Al Ruwais and Al Sila are expected to receive such training soon.
