Ajman: His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, conferred degrees on 90 graduates of the Gulf Medical University (GMU) during the university’s 11th convocation on Wednesday at the Ajman Kempinski Hotel and Resort.
“This event signifies that each of the students has demonstrated the required intellectual ability and the personal qualities of hard work, perseverance and accomplishment to attain a special mark of recognition,” Shaikh Humaid said as he congratulated the graduates.
Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Youth, Culture and Community Development, was also present at the event along with Dr Shaikh Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ruler’s Court Ajman; Dr Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary, Ministry of Health; T.P. Seetharam, the Indian Ambassador to the UAE, and other VIP guests.
Thumbay Moideen, Founder President, Board of Governors of GMU, thanked President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Shaikh Humaid for their continued support and guidance to the institution. He also thanked the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Higher Education for their constant guidance and encouragement in all academic and training programmes provided by the university.
Out of a total of 90 graduates, 48 are from the College of Medicine, nine from the College of Allied Health Sciences, 19 from the College of Dentistry, and nine from the College of Pharmacy. Two of them received their master’s degree in clinical pathology, while three others graduated with a master’s in toxicology.
