MET will be available on channel 140 as part of the A La Carte menu and will be offered free of charge to all E-Vision subscribers for the first three months. After that it will cost only Dh2 a month to enjoy the channel.
MET will broadcast 24 hours a day in Malayalam with regular slots for Hindi and other South Indian languages catering to the Indians living in the Arabian Gulf and beyond with local programmes produced mainly in the UAE.
Humaid Rashid Sahoo, CEO, E-Vision said: "We are happy to have MET on the E-Vision platform as we believe the addition of MET will add value to our viewers from the subcontinent. The decision to add MET shows E-Vision's commitment to bring its customers the variety of channels that suits their various tastes."
Middle East Television is an interactive television that focuses on local mass participation. According to John Thomas, Managing Director, it has made MET popular among Indians in a very short period.
Plans are also in the pipeline to assign programme slots for other languages widely spoken in Dubai with mass community participation.
