Dubai: UAE residents and visitors can enjoy a new culinary highlight this year’s Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), with Dh10 meals being offered at hundreds of outlets across the city throughout August.

Launching for the first time as a summer edition, the "DSS 10 Dirham Dish" campaign will run from August 1 to 31, giving residents and visitors the chance to sample a wide range of flavours from over 190 restaurants across more than 700 locations, including malls, cafés, and casual dining spots.

Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the DSS 10 Dirham Dish spans two key DSS retail seasons—the final week of the Great Dubai Summer Sale (until August 10) and the Back-to-School season (August 11–31).

“No bookings or vouchers are required. Simply visit any participating outlet and ask for the Dh10 dish,” the organisers said.

“With casual eateries, food courts, cafés, and well-loved chains all taking part, the city-wide line-up promises something for everyone, whether a curious foodie or simply looking for a great deal,” DFRE added.

Asian flavours

The line-up of offerings includes everything from burgers and bao to ice cream and regional street food.

Pan-Asian highlights include the Bang Bang Cauliflower Bao at The Noodle House, Chicken Ramen at Yum Noodle Bar, and Chow Mein Noodles at San Wan Noodles. Each dish offers a quick and flavourful option for lunch, dinner, or a mid-shopping refuel.

Burgers, sandwiches

Burger and sandwich lovers are well catered for this August, with the New York Flat-Top Hot Dog at Shake Shack, the Mini Maverick at Big Smoke Burger, and a tender Brisket Sandwich from Bla Bla Beach Café all joining the Dh10 campaign. Over at Pret A Manger, diners can enjoy a Cheddar & Pret Pickle Sandwich served with an americano, making for a satisfying combo at a budget-friendly price.

Street food picks

For fans of regional street food, highlights include Samosa Chaat from Samboosa Factory, the Katsu Chicken Slider at Revelry, a Chicken Kathi Roll at Mumbai Express, and the always-popular Chicken Shawarma from Feka, which holds the title of Dubai’s first Iraqi food truck.

Cool treats

To cool down, diners can stop by Gelato Divino for its signature Classico Cup, enjoy a refreshing frozen yoghurt at Yoghurtland, or try the creamy Mango Bingsoo and Matcha Bingsoo at Seoul Street Café. Over at Haagen-Dazs, customers can opt for a scoop of ice cream served with a coffee, making it the perfect midday pick-me-up, all for just Dh10.
