Dubai: Shoppers rushed for the exit after the Dubai Mall fire alarm was mistakenly set off late on Thursday.
Dubai Police said the person accidentally pressed the emergency button mounted on the wall in the mall. The fire alarm went off at midnight.

“Dubai Police would like to clarify that a person mistakenly set off the fire alarm at the Mall after he had broken the emergency button fixed on a wall inside the mall. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding,” Dubai Police said on Twitter.
A Dubai Civil Defence official told Gulf News firefighters went to the mall but found it was a false alarm.
