Dubai: Kerala expat in Karama wins Dh50K in Big Ticket with free entry
Anto Jose has been trying his luck for the past eight years
Dubai: An Indian expat from Kerala, living in Dubai’s vibrant Karama neighbourhood, has struck it lucky in Big Ticket’s weekly e-draw held in Abu Dhabi.
Anto Jose, who has been residing in the city for the past 12 years and works in the security sector, won Dh50,000 in the latest draw.
“I won Dh50,000? Thank you, thank you,” an elated Jose told show host Richard, who called him with the exciting news.
“I am staying in Karama with my family. I have two kids,” said the 35-year-old Malayali. “I am very happy.”
Sharing the joy with 20 friends
For the past eight years, Jose has been purchasing Big Ticket entries regularly as part of a group of 20 close friends. This time, luck smiled on them.
“I have been buying tickets for the past 8 years. I will be sharing this with my 20 friends,” the jubilant Jose said.
A free ticket changed everything
Jose had bought four tickets through the ‘Buy 2, Get 2 Free’ bundle, and it was one of the free tickets that turned out to be a winner.
He said that the group remains hopeful and will continue buying tickets together, encouraging others to stay optimistic as well.
What’s more, Jose’s ticket will be in the running for the upcoming grand prize draw on August 3 – keeping the dream alive for him and his friends of hitting the jackpot.
