As day turns to dusk, there's no mistaking that Dubai Shopping Festival 2006/07 has finally arrived, thanks to miles and miles of bulbs illuminating the city.
With millions of tourists and shoppers expected to enjoy the wealth of activities and events on offer during the 45-day extravaganza, DSF is guiding the way in radiant fashion.
Lampposts, bridges and roadsides have been transformed with light installations of different shapes and sizes as well as banners, hoardings and buntings. And roadsides are leaving a lasting impression with beautiful flower beds and immaculate landscaping.
Starting from Dubai International Airport, which boasts a grand festive look with additional lights, festoons and colourful bunting, the city décor sends out a special message of welcome to all visitors to the emirate.
To add to the magic, fireworks will light up the skies above Dubai during the Festival which runs until February 2.
