Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Executive Council, on Thursday approved a comprehensive set of policies and strategies aimed at reinforcing Dubai’s status as a global hub for education and future-ready talent.

As part of these initiatives, Sheikh Hamdan approved a major project to attract leading international universities, with the goal of positioning Dubai among the world’s top 10 destinations for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The plan aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to build a knowledge-based economy.

“Today, I chaired the Executive Council meeting and approved a set of policies and strategies to reinforce Dubai’s position as a global hub for education and future-ready talent. We approved a project to attract top international universities, aiming to position Dubai among the world’s top 10 destinations for undergraduate and postgraduate students,” Sheikh Hamdan wrote in a post on his official X account.

He noted that the project will be implemented in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.

Among the approved initiatives is the Academic and Career Guidance Policy, designed to equip Emirati students with targeted academic and career support to help them thrive in future job markets.

Sheikh Hamdan also endorsed the Air Quality Strategy 2030, which aims to meet clean air standards on 90 percent of days annually in Dubai.

Other key projects approved include the Dubai International Mediation Centre, which will offer a transparent and efficient environment for dispute resolution, and a framework for the Governance of Government Construction Projects, intended to standardize financial planning and expansion strategies in public sector construction.
