A visitor has been jailed for six months for getting drunk and exposing himself before a group people and performing a lewd act at the Palm Jumeirah. The 33-year-old British visitor undressed himself in public and performed an indecent act in public in front of a residential building in December.
The Dubai Misdemeanours Court also fined him Dh2,000 for drinking and the Briton will be deported after the completion of his sentence.
When the accused showed up in court, he admitted consuming alcohol but denied the charge of indecent act.
The Briton contended before the judge that he had consumed liquor and did not remember anything.
Dubai Police’s Operation Room were reported at around 11.30pm after a security guard spotted the accused.
Police was dispatched to the building where a Kenyan eyewitness said he saw the suspect behaving indecently.
The Briton was immediately taken into custody and then to the police station before he was referred to the Public Prosecution.
The primary judgement remains subject to appeal within 13 days.
