Abu Dhabi: Two men posing as CID officials attempted to rape a 15-year-old boy, the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance heard on Tuesday.

The men, S.F. and J.F., were charged with homosexual harassment, and for impersonating CID officials.

According to the boy's statement lodged with the court, the men allegedly stopped him outside his house and introduced themselves as CID officials. They then asked the boy to get into the car.

The teenager said because he was scared, he did as he was told. The men then allegedly drove to an isolated spot three or four kilometres away, and attempted to rape him in the back seat of their car.

The boy managed to escape, and his older brother subsequently filed a case against the men.

At the hearing, the defendants denied the charges made against them.

"The boy was riding his bike near his residence in Shahama when he was stopped by the strangers," an Abu Dhabi police official close to the investigation told Gulf News.

"The two arrested were 19 and 23 years old," he said.

The alleged incident happened in July.
