Dubai: Police, in cooperation with Interpol, are investigating the case of a woman who strangled her newborn baby and dumped him in the Dubai International Airport’s bathroom.
Police sources confirmed that the suspect, who is from an African country, strangled her newborn baby which she had given birth to in the airport's bathroom.
She then dumped the baby in the trash and boarded a plane back to her country.
A police source said the woman had been identified through the CCTV cameras in the airport. Dubai Police have already requested the arrest of the suspect in the undisclosed country in Africa.
The CCTV cameras revealed that the woman boarded her plane minutes after murdering the newborn baby during early Thursday morning.
The newborn was discovered by a cleaner who received a complaint from a passenger who had found an excessive amount of blood in the bathroom.
The newborn was found in a plastic bag and tied with the umbilical cord in a garbage bin.
