Ras Al Khaimah: The Ras Al Khaimah Police has deployed camera-equipped drones to enhance security in the emirate as well as take photos and videos of emergency situations such as traffic jams and accidents on roads.

The high-definition cameras on drones, which are remote-controlled, were launched by Major General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police on Thursday flanked by other officials.

The newly-developed drones can live-stream the images and videos of the emergency situations to patrol vehicles and senior officers at the central operations room, which help them take appropriate decisions at once.

The camera-equipped drone, which has been deployed, will be linked with the police operation room and can cover emergency situations and all actions related to police work.

The drones can operate round-the-clock with high efficiency and capture images and videos from very far.

These small-size drones are easily remote-controlled by the operators who can send them to a particular destination following the instructions from the central operations room with the approval for flying from the competent authorities.
