Probe under way after man killed in hit-and-run
Dubai: One person was killed and three others sustained injuries in separate road accidents on Saturday, police said.
An unidentified man was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday morning in Jebel Ali.
Lieutenant Hesham Mosa, Head of Dubai Police's Traffic Prediction Section at the traffic department, said police are investigating the accident which took place at 10am at the first industrial area in Jebel Ali.
He said the Asian victim, who has not yet been identified, was killed and the motorist who hit him fled the scene.
He said police are investigating the accident and are on the lookout for the driver.
A jaywalker sustained serious injuries when a pick-up truck ran him down in the Muhaisna area near labour accommodation.
Undesignated area
Lieutenant Mosa said the accident took place at 11am when the jaywalker was trying to cross the road at an undesignated area.
Two people, including the driver, sustained injuries when the driver collided with a parked truck.
The accident took place when the driver did not pay attention to the road signs, entered an area under construction and collided with a parked truck.
Lieutenant Mosa said the driver sustained minor injuries but his companion sustained moderate injuries as he was not weaning a seat belt.
He said the accident took place on Business Bay Bridge at 1am.
