Officers allegedly found stolen items in suspect’s home

Sharjah: An Afghani man suspected of stealing mobile phones belonging to people living in bachelor accommodations has been arrested.

The suspect, identified as A.H.A., is believed to have committed several thefts at locations in the Moleiha area of Sharjah, said police.

CID formed a specialised team to apprehend the suspect, who was later arrested when police found around nine stolen mobile phones in his house in addition to two laptops.

The suspect confessed to his crimes, police said, and told investigators that he sold some of the stolen mobile phone to a shop in a neigbouring emirate.

The case has been referred to public prosecution for further action.
