Sharjah/Ajman: Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of a Yemeni man whose body was found in his apartment in Sharjah in the early hours of Saturday, an official told Gulf News.

The 65-year-old man, identified as B.A.H., was found dead in his apartment in Al Yarmouk area of Sharjah and the incident was reported to police operation room around 3.15am.

The man was found lying in a pool of blood on the floor, said the official.

A police patrol, paramedics and a team from the Criminal Investigation Department moved to the scene after the crime was reported. They found the man already dead.

They transferred the body to Al Qasimi Hospital.

An official at Al Qasimi Hospital told Gulf News the man was brought dead to the hospital with stab wounds on the body.

The body of the victim has been transferred to the forensic laboratory for autopsy.

Meanwhile, Ajman Police have launched an investigation after a body of an Asian man found floating in a water tank in Ajman industrial area.

The body was found early on Friday by workers and they reported the incident to the police.

Police patrols, paramedics and forensic experts arrived on the scene of the incident and moved the body to the forensic laboratory to establish the cause of death.

Police have summoned witnesses for questioning and the investigation is ongoing.
