Suspect arrested at Sharjah-Oman border while trying to flee the country
Sharjah: Sharjah police on Saturday arrested a man accused of stabbing his two roommates after a row over rent payments.
The police said a Bangladeshi man in his mid-20s was arrested at the UAE-Oman border on Saturday while trying to flee the country.
Police arrested the man on charges of stabbing his two countrymen, also in their mid-20s, at their shared accommodation in Sharjah Industrial Area No 6 after fighting over their rental payment.
One of the victims died on the spot after sustaining multiple stab wounds while the other victim was transferred to Kuwaiti Hospital.
Sharjah police made the arrest in cooperation with Omani authorities. The suspect has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
