RAK police found 676 bottles of different types of alcohol in the suspect’s house
Ras Al Khaimah : Police have arrested an Asian man allegedly involved in the illegal alcohol trade in Ras Al Khaimah and recovered 676 bottles of different types of alcoh.
Colonel Salim Al Za’abi, head of Al Ma’amurah police station, said that the Criminal Investigation Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police was tipped off about the illegal activity of the suspect who sold his goods to people in different areas of the emirate.
Police patrols monitored the suspect and stopped him when he was carrying a box containing alcohol. Police asked him to show his ID, but he was not carrying any identification document with him, and he was in a state of confusion.
When police inspected the box they found seven bottles of alcohol. The suspect has been taken into police custody.
The suspect confessed to his crime and he sold alcoholic beverages for some people against a sum of money.
Police found 676 bottles of different types of alcohol in the suspect’s house.
The case has been referred to the public prosecution.
Colonel Al Za’abi said the seizure comes within the framework of the directives of Major General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, commander-in-chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, to intensify efforts and track drug dealers, and stressed that they would step up their efforts to detect any illegal activities concerning the storage, sale and promotion of alcoholic beverages.
Colonel Al Za’abi urged community members to cooperate with the police to reduce these phenomena by reporting any activity related to the sale and promotion of alcohol on 999.
