Maid attempts suicide by drinking bleach
Woman in her 20s rushed to hospital after being found unconcious at sponsor’s house
Ras Al Khaimah: An Ethiopian housemaid was admitted to the Saqr Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah on Sunday after she consumed a bleaching substance.
The maid, reported to be in her 20s, drank Clorox in the attempt to end her life. an official at Ras Al Khaimah police told Gulf News.
Police at the Operations Room received a distress call concerning the incident and rushed to the location.
They found the woman lying unconscious in her sponsor’s house in Ras Al Khaimah.
They referred her to Saqr Hospital for treatment.
Officials said an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances behind the suicide bid.
Meanwhile, police filed case against the maid on a charge of attempted murder, official said.
