Japanese man dies in road accident

Sharjah Police have launched a manhunt for the driver

Sharjah: A 41-year-old Japanese man died on the spot after he was run over in the free zone in Sharjah on Thursday night, an official told Gulf News on Saturday.

The accident happened at 11pm when a speeding car ran over the man and the driver fled the scene, leaving the victim, identified as Sh.H., bleeding on the street.

The man was crossing the road in Sharjah Airport International Free Zone when the accident happened.

By the time police reached the site. the man had succumbed to his injuries.

The body was moved to Al Qasimi Hospital.

Wasit Police are investigating the incident and are looking for the driver.
