Dubai: An Indian woman was attacked by five men and mugged of her passport, Emirates ID and other documents in Al Nahda 1 recently.

The incident took place around 11.30pm on January 29 when the woman was walking home after getting off a company bus. The woman said she had barely walked a few metres when a man pushed her from behind.

“A white colour Toyota Yaris was parked on the main road. There were four others in the car. The man tried to snatch my handbag but I resisted. I saw another person getting out of the car and I got very scared and gave up my bag. Luckily my cash was in my jacket and I did not lose any money. My mobile too slipped out of my bag when I fell down and did not get into the hands of the robbers.

“The muggers sped away in their sedan, only to take a U-turn and approach me again. But when I screamed for help, they drove off.”
