Fujairah: Fujairah Police departments added another feather in their cap recently by securing ISO 14001/2015 (Environment Management System) and 9001/2015 (Quality management systems) certification, making them the first police departments in the world this accolade.

Fujairah Punitive and Rehabilitation Centre has been awarded the ISO 14001/2015 certification for environment management system

while the commander-in-chief’s office has been awarded ISO 9001/2015 certificate for quality management system.

The certificates were awarded by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance after checking the performance and work mechanism at the department.

The certificate which was handed over by Basem Obaid, Area General Manager at Lloyd’s Register, to Brigadier Mohammad Ganem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, was described as an unprecedented achievement.

“This achievement has come in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and Lt Gen Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, on the need to keep pace with the latest international developments in the field of smart government in order to achieve the goals of our nation and the happiness of the people as wished for by our wise leadership,” Brig Al Kaabi said.

“It is an important accomplishment for the office and it confirms our commitment to one of our core values, which is continuous improvement in everything we do, adopting the best quality standards,” he added.

Brig Al Kaabi also expressed his happiness and gratitude to the teams for their dedication and efforts to apply best international practices. “The department won this certification because its programmes and work meet international standards,” he said.
