Dubai: Digital Dubai has warned the public against spreading rumours, launching a witty yet sobering awareness video that shows how unchecked misinformation can spiral from harmless chatter into full-blown panic.

The video opens with a woman asking a simple question: “Where is the harees pot?” When a young man named Sloom replies, “The pot has been stolen,” the storyline takes off.

Within minutes, neighbors begin repeating the tale, each time adding layers of drama. One claims the whole house was robbed; another insists the entire neighborhood was targeted. By the end, viewers hear of international mafia involvement and a diamond heist worth millions.

The video concludes with a simple truth wrapped in satire. A man turns to the camera and says:
“Did you see how rumours spread? We started with a pot… and ended with an international mafia. The pot wasn’t even stolen.”

In its post, Digital Dubai highlights the dangers of misinformation with a satirical tone: “They told me! I heard from someone! Maybe it’s true!” The message urges viewers not to be part of the rumour mill, emphasizing that “a rumour begins with unverified information and grows through irresponsible sharing.”
