Dubai: Dubai Police have extradited two individuals wanted internationally to French authorities for their involvement in transnational organised crime, including attempted fraud and trafficking in narcotics and psychotropic substances.

The suspects were apprehended following the issuance of international red notices. Both men were on the wanted lists of Interpol and Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency.

In a statement, Dubai Police said the extradition was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Dubai Public Prosecution, ensuring all legal and judicial procedures were observed. The move followed formal international arrest warrants received by the UAE Ministry of Justice’s International Cooperation Department, which serves as the central authority for such requests.

With this latest handover, the number of individuals extradited from the UAE to France this year has risen to 10. These individuals are reportedly tied to serious international offenses, including murder, leadership of criminal organizations, armed robbery, money laundering, and drug trafficking.

Dubai Police confirmed that this extradition aligns with their commitment to strengthening cooperation and collaboration with law enforcement agencies worldwide. Their objective is to combat transnational organized crime in all forms and establish a robust global security framework focused on crime prevention and the exchange of successful security practices, ultimately enhancing community safety and security.

Furthermore, the force stated, “The search and investigation teams, alongside the raid units and specialized divisions within the General Department of Criminal Investigation, successfully apprehended all wanted individuals shortly after receiving the red notices. This success was achieved through dedicated field efforts and the application of advanced technology at the Data Analysis Centre, which enabled precise tracking, location identification, and ultimately ensured their handover to justice.
