Child dies in run-over accident in Sharjah

Sharjah: A seven-year-old Egyptian boy died after being run over on Friday night, Sharjah Police told Gulf News.

The accident took place at around 8.30pm in Al Buhairah area in Sharjah. The boy, identified as H.A., received serious head injuries and leg fractures after being hit by a car driven by a policeman.

The accident happened when the boy was crossing the road.

The incident was reported to the police operation room at around 8.30pm and a police ambulance transferred the boy to Al Qasimi Hospital by 9pm where he was pronounced dead.

The driver was taken to Al Buhairah police station for questioning.
