All foreigners convicted of drug related crimes will be deported

Abu Dhabi – All foreigners convicted of crimes relating to drugs and psychotropic medication (which have psychological effects), will be deported, a statement by the Abu Dhabi Court of Cassation said yesterday.

An appeal made to the Court of Cassation in the case of a man who was sentenced to one year in prison, without deportation, caused the Court to make the decision.

The man was charged with the promotion of Tramadol in the UAE, after the Court of First Instance initially found him innocent of the crime. He will be deported after completing his sentence.
