Cats have besieged the open beach in Abu Dhabi, according to Gulf News reader Noel Yap Labrador.

He said he noticed over 20 cats along the capital’s Corniche and beach on one occasion. “They are usually near the lighthouse. I think the smell of fish attracts them because a lot of people go fishing in the area.” The ideal solution, according to the community reporter, is a shelter dedicated to such “homeless” critters.
