Dubai: Residents of several Dubai localities will face interruptions in water supply on Monday due to work being carried out by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The RTA's work on the Dubai Metro will force the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to divert a pipeline causing decreased water pressure in Al Karama, Mankhool, Bur Dubai, Al Hamriya, Al Raffa, Al Satwa and Umm Hurair.
The interruptions will be felt on Monday between 4am and 8pm.
In an announcement published in local papers, DEWA asked residents of the areas to store water for "urgent needs".
"In case of shortages, we suggest that residents store water in tanks. If not, water tanks can always be purchased at our stations in Jebel Ali or Al Hamriya. Residents can always call us if they need more information," a DEWA official told Gulf News.
Hotline: Emergency numbers
The number to reach DEWA is 04-3244444. Emergency numbers corresponding with localities can be obtained from the directory service 181.
