Abu Dhabi: A seven-year-old boy from the Gulf died after drowning in Abu Dhabi beach on Saturday evening, said police.
The victim’s eight-year-old brother, who was also swimming at the beach, sustained moderate injuries and was treated at Al Rahba Hospital.
The Command and Control Center at Abu Dhabi Police's Central Operations said they received an alert on Saturday evening, and immediately dispatched an ambulance team and rescue personnel to the scene.

According to Abu Dhabi Police, emergency responders gave CPR to the two victims who were both pulled under water.
However, the younger child was already in critical condition.
Lt Col Nasser Al Zaabi, Acting Director of Yas Police Station, said that the two young boys were taken to Al Rahba Hospital for treatment.
Lt Col Al Zaabi expressed his deepest condolences over the painful incident. offered his sympathies to the bereaved parents and family members.
Abu Dhabi Police called on parents to keep a constant watch over their children as they swim, and to never leave them alone in areas that do not have rescue facilities.

- Always visit beach areas that are monitored by lifeguards
- Do not go to the beach at night when there are no lifeguards around
- Never leave you child unattended near a pool or at the beach
- Maids should not supervise children if they are unable to swim
