Boost for business in Khor Fakkan city

Sheikh Tariq bin Faisal Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Economic Development, discussed with national traders and businessmen in Khor Fakkan, ways to improve business in the city during the official opening of the department's branch here yesterday.

The new branch, which was opened by Sheikh Tariq, will help provide national businessmen with better services to improve the economic sector in the city.

"The new branch will serve the economic sector in Khor Fakkan city and offer consultancy for the local businessmen to improve their business, in cooperation with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry," said Sheikh Tariq.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ahmed Mohammed Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Saeed Obeid Al Jarwan, Director General of the Chamber, Mubarak Bulaswad Mubarak, Director General of the Sharjah Department of Economic Development, and some other national traders and businessmen from Khor Fakkan.

"The opening of this branch in Khor Fakkan is very significant because of its strategic location which would help improve the tourism industry in this region and support the economy of the Sharjah emirate in general," Sheikh Tariq noted.

He pointed out that a new branch of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry would be opened in Khor Fakkan very soon to support trade and investment in the eastern region of the emirate.

"We had some other ideas which we offered to His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, concerning the setting up an exhibition centre in Khor Fakkan to host some commercial and tourism exhibitions," he added.

He said the Sharjah Department of Economic Development is always trying to promote Khor Fakkan as an important centre for business and tourism.
