Al Rahba to be model hospital
Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi General Authority for Health Services (GAHS) and Abu Dhabi Economy Department, announced yesterday that the newly opened Al Rahba Hospital will be a model for all the other hospitals supervised by the Authority.
In a statement issued by the GAHS, Sheikh Hamed said the hospital will be equipped with the most advanced medical technologies.
Mohammed Butti Al Qubaisi, director of the office of Sheikh Hamed, said that during a meeting of the board of directors with the management of the hospital, it was announced that the Authority will cover the expenses for most of the necessary health and medical services.
Al Qubaisi also said the hospital will have a special clinic for the treatment of diabetes, the first of its kind in the country. He added that the medical director of Al Rahba, Dr Suhail Al Qadi, is a renowned specialist in the field.
Aisha Al Shamsi, Al Rahba project manager, said the facility has been built according to international quality control standards and can be expanded in the future to host other specialities and clinics.
Dr Al Qadi said the personnel are highly qualified and experienced. Officials at the hospital said the facility is receiving an average of 100 outpatients a day in different specialities.
