Al Nasr will lodge a protest with the UAE Football Association following the attack on Al Nasr players and technical staff at Emarat Club stadium in Ras Al Khaimah by some supporters after their last league game, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

The result didn't satisfy the Emarat supporters, who were looking to beat Al Nasr and stay in the First division. However, the 2-2 result has now forced them to play a match against Sharjah on Monday to decide the team to be relegated.

"It was something unbelievable. The match ended in a 2-2 draw and we were attacked, many of our players and the team coach were injured and taken to hospital. I don't know what would've happened if we had defeated them," quipped a member of Al Nasr executive bureau.

The Al Nasr official said that Brazilian coach, Sebastian Lapola, was carried to Rashid hospital with a broken finger along with other seven players who were injured due to the assault.

"They stayed in the hospital until 2 o'clock in the morning. After we went out of the stadium, the Police accompanied the team bus until outside Ras Al Khaimah to protect our players from the irritated supporters, who were not with the verdict."

Al Nasr official condemned the uncivilized behaviour of some intolerant supporters, who don't know the meaning of sport and Fair Play.

Al Nasr led 2-1 until the 89th minute of the match, a result which could have send Emarat to the second division with 21 points. At the same time, Sharjah, the other club threatened by relegation, defeated Al Jazira to finish with 22 points.

However, an error by the Al Nasr goalkeeper gave Emarat a chance to score the equaliser in the last minute to make it 2-2.
