Both the clubs put up a very good display in the league and at times even topped the standings. But they lost crucial points which allowed Al Ain clinched the title for the seventh time in the club's history.
George Weah will lead Al Jazira along with his compatriot James Debbah, who scored 18 goals in the league, Khalaf Salim, Mohammed Salim, Khalid Ali in defence, and Saeed Juma (Ahmed Ali) as goalkeeper.

Al Wahda will be under the recently-appointed Dutch coach Tini Rijus, who was earlier at the helm of affairs. Mohammed Ennazy, league's top goal-scorer with 22 goals, will spearhead the Wahda front line along with Yasir Salim.

Meanwhile, the UAE Football Association Tournaments Committee (TC) decided in it's last meeting to warn Al Ain Club and fine them Dh. 10,000 after Al Ain supporters shouted with indecent words against the referee during their league match against Al Jazira and threw water bottles inside the ground.
The TC decided to warn and fine Al Nasr Club with Dh 6,000 after their supporters threw bottles and cans inside the field during their league match against Al Wasl.
The TC warned Salah Jalal the Al Nasr team administrator because he didn't co-operate with the referee. The committee also decided to warn and fine Al Nasr coach Milan Macala Dh 1,000 as he threw a chair towards the reserve referee protesting a decision.
The TC decided to play the Al Nasr v Hatta match in the President's Cup pre-quarterfinals at the Maktoum bin Rashid stadium at the Al Shabab club on May 29.
