Events to impart the core of UAE heritage include a traditional parade
Al Ain: Al Ain Zoo has lined up exciting events and activities for visitors to celebrate the 41st National Day of the UAE.
The five-day activities will start from today (Thursday). The activities have been designed to impart the core of the UAE heritage with Arabian wildlife and traditional cultural proceedings, said a spokesperson of the zoo.
A stage at heritage village will host a variety of traditional Arabic dance performances such as harbiya and ayala. Pairrot shows and a falconry presentation will be shown on stage, while a selection of unique artefacts from Al Ain National Museum will be on display to inspire national pride.
Al Ain Police have also been participating in the zoo activities by organising a traditional national parade on December 2, said the spokesperson. UAE food cooking demonstrations will be held along with a display of traditional handicrafts. There will be an opportunity for girls and women to enjoy henna art.
For more animal encounters, children will be allowed to get up close to furry and feathered friends at Elezba, visit the Cat House to see one of the world’s largest big cat collections, or partake in the giraffe feeding experience.
The spokesperson said the zoo will hold an additional morning bird show for three days from Friday (November 30) while the regular evening show will continue as scheduled. The zoo timing will be from 9am to 8pm daily.
