ACDelco has stretched its automotive service centre concept, launched in the Gulf, to the rest of the region and even overseas.
Since the first outlet opened in Sharjah, over 270 ACDelco service centres have been set.
When a facility opens in Bahrain this year, all the GCC markets will be covered. The most recent openings were five facilities in Oman in partnership with Oman Trading Establishment.
Expansion is continuing in the major Middle East markets and Mexico. Venezuela and China were also two areas of significant growth in 2001.
Additional outlets are planned in South America, Asia Pacific, Central America and Europe.
The outlets offer services for any make or model, taking up an average two hours. "The service centres are where you can really see the ACDelco brand attributes in action," said Nick Boring, international retail marketing manager.
By creating another chain in the distribution channel, service centres provide warehouse distributors with additional revenue sources. There is also the chance of more wholesale business.
"The initiative leverages the resources of the entire global General Motors organisation," Boring added.
