Abu Dhabi cleans up and maintain pedestrian subways

Abu Dhabi: The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has started a comprehensive cleaning process of [pedestrian] subways in the capital, to remove graffiti and clean the walls to upgrade the urbanised appearance of the city.

It ultimately bolsters the Municipality's endeavours to make Abu Dhabi city one of the best five cosmopolitan cities in the world, said a statement issued by the municipality.

The maintenance works had been completed in six subways a week ago. And the ongoing maintenance works of 35 subways will be completed within two months. The works include removal of disfiguring things, graffiti and leftovers or waste etc.

The Municipality has recently started the installation of permanent surveillance cameras at the subways to ensure the safety of the public , said the statement.
